I missed the registration deadline, can I still register?
Every effort is made to allow everyone ample time to register. While some registrations are accepted after the deadline and with the Late Fee payment, there can be no guarantee of placement on a team after the deadline. Players will be placed on a waiting list for any available openings prior to the start of the season. Late fees are non-refundable except in the event we are unable to place the child on a team.
I sent my registration in before the deadline, and see the check has not cleared and we have not heard anything, did you get it?
Sometimes the checks are not deposited immediately. The registration process takes time as all the registration data is compiled into a database, coaches must be assigned and then teams formed. In most cases you will hear nothing until your child's coach calls several weeks before the season begins. Generally you will hear from your coach in early April for the Spring season and early September for the Fall season.
When are the practices and games?
Practices dates and times are determined after teams are formed. Practice for Rec. teams are about an hour long and usually once a week. Rec. games are played on Saturday mornings at various field locations with the exception of League 4 which plays on Friday evenings.
What happens if my child decides he/she does not want to play?
Cancellation requests can be made directly to the Registrar and mailed to PO Box 2375 Shelton, or sent by email to the registrar via the web site. Email cancellation requests will be acknowledged within 24 hours. Refunds are issued if cancellations are made before the child participates in any games and before the second week.
When do the Fall / Spring seasons start?
For all Leagues: Fall season begins in September. Spring season begins in early April (weather permitting).
What equipment do I need to purchase?
An SYSO orange/white reversible jersey is required and can be purchased at Blanchette's Sporting goods on Bridgeport Ave. In addition, shin guards and socks high enough to cover them. Soccer cleats are option and recommended.
